Locum physicians who already know your floor.
Credentialed hospitalists and nocturnists for vacancies, leaves, holidays, and census swings across New York. We hand your medical staff office complete files ahead of time, so once they are approved, an open shift is a phone call instead of a search.

The gaps we cover.
Most open shifts fall into one of four patterns. Each one calls for a slightly different plan.
Vacancies
A hospitalist left and recruiting takes months. We hold the line with a consistent locum until your permanent hire starts.
Leaves
Parental, medical, and sabbatical leave. Planned coverage that starts the day the leave does and ends when your physician returns.
Nights and weekends
The shifts your group dreads. We cover them as recurring blocks so your permanent physicians get predictable time off.
Census surges
Flu season, a unit opening, a neighboring closure. Extra rounders or admitters for as long as the census stays up.
The same physicians come back.
A locum who has never seen your EHR, your consult list, or your sign-out process is slower on the first night and a risk on every night. Most agencies send whoever is free.
We build a small roster for your service, get each physician through your privileging once, and send them back again and again. By the third month, your nurses know them by name.
A typical agency
A different physician almost every month.
A ServiceDocs roster
Three physicians who learn your hospital.
What every locum engagement includes.
No add-on fees for the parts that make coverage work. If it takes a phone call to get a physician on your floor, we make the call.
- NY license, board, DEA, and NPDB verification before placement
- Privileging packet prepared for your medical staff office
- Orientation to your EHR, sign-out, and consult workflow
- Malpractice coverage arranged for every placement
- One account lead who answers the phone
- Monthly summary of shifts requested, filled, and by whom
Size your gap.
If the number is bigger than you expected, a locum coverage plan may not be the right tool. The estimator will say so.
A locum coverage plan
Assumes 12-hour shifts and about 15 shifts per full-time hospitalist per month.
Locum coverage questions
How much notice do you need?
For physicians already privileged at your facility, a shift can often be filled within days. For a new physician, timing depends on your medical staff office. We start the file on the first call so your office can begin right away.
Do you provide specialties other than hospital medicine?
Our network is built around hospitalists, nocturnists, and internal medicine physicians for inpatient care. If you need something outside that, ask. We will tell you plainly if it is not a fit.
Can a locum become permanent?
Yes. Some partners hire a locum who has worked their service for months. We will talk through the terms up front so there are no surprises.
Who handles malpractice?
Coverage is arranged for every placement. We will share the details during contracting so your risk team can review them.
